KPA Ulm 2026: The Franz Morat Group presents plastic and hybrid solutions for compact, low-noise drives in automotive and industry
How can drive solutions made of plastic and hybrid materials be implemented reliably, quietly, and efficiently - while consistently keeping weight, installation space, and cost in focus? The Franz Morat Group will be providing answers at KPA Messe (Kunststoff Produkte Aktuell) in Ulm on February 25–26, 2026.
For the second time, we will be exhibiting and will showcase plastic components, hybrid parts, as well as complete assemblies and actuators in Hall 1 | Booth C5. Under the umbrella of the Franz Morat Group, drive solutions for automotive and industrial applications are created - from the initial idea and development through to series production, all from a single source.
Automotive: Portfolio expanded to include thermal management
In the automotive sector, F. Morat develops and manufactures gearing components, technical parts, actuators, and assemblies made from high-performance plastics. The range extends from gear components for seat adjustment systems and window lifters to gears with metal inserts for wiper drives, as well as housing parts for tailgate drives and pump control units. Most recently, the portfolio has been expanded to include thermal management components. These include actuators, clutch components, and pump components such as housings, impellers, and connectors - for battery temperature control, power electronics cooling, engine cooling, and HVAC applications.
Industry: From injection-molded components to drive systems
For industrial applications, Framo Morat contributes comprehensive plastics and hybrid expertise. At KPA, the focus will be on plastic injection-molded parts, plastic-to-metal combinations, as well as gear and drive systems. Customers benefit from more than 100 years of experience in gear and drive technology and from solutions precisely tailored to each requirement profile - ranging from ball-bearing control drives for valve actuation and precision spindles for mobile communications antennas to swivel gear units and control drives for automation technology, as well as durable gearing components for stairlifts.
Application-driven validation on the gear test rig: Faster, more robust design decisions
To ensure gears can be designed purposefully and tested reliably, the Franz Morat Group creates an application-driven database. On the gear test rig, application-specific endurance tests and flexible load spectra are reproduced under different lubrication conditions (oil or grease). This generates application-relevant load capacity parameters, makes design variants comparable, and accelerates project-specific validation - also available as a service, if required.
KPA presentation: High ratios in minimal space - halve center distance with speero-X
High transmission ratio, but limited installation space for the right-angle gear stage? Then it is worth taking a look at the KPA presentation program: On February 25, 2026, from 11:00 to 11:15 a.m., a gear technology specialist from the Franz Morat Group will speak in the KPA Speakers Corner on “speeroX – the highly compact right-angle gearset in plastic.” The presentation highlights how the center distance can be halved compared with worm or crossed-helical gear sets - without sacrificing a broad ratio range. The speeroX technology will be put into context and illustrated with a tangible gearing face-off: speeroX vs. crossed-helical gear set.
Would you like to design your drive solution to be compact and efficient - and validate the design with robust test data? Then let’s talk at KPA and shape the future of drive technology for automotive and industrial applications together. Schedule a meeting with our team - we look forward to constructive discussions and exchanging ideas about your specific requirements at Booth C5 in Hall 1.
