Quality management

For us, quality does not just mean delivering first-class products. For us, quality is an attitude that permeates every step of our production processes. This begins with the selection of suitable materials and production methods and extends to the planning and implementation of maintenance schedules and the rigorous testing of each individual component in the final inspection. This is how we produce gearing components that meet the high demands of the automotive industry.

We use optical and tactile measuring machines to monitor product properties. We also use various gear measuring methods, such as the double-flank rolling test.

As a development and production specialist for client-specific gearing systems, we also offer individual processes for quality management. Based on our quality management in accordance with IATF 16949:2016, we can use Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), process monitoring, statistical process control (SPC) and machine capability studies (MFU), among other things.

IATF 16949:2016 – Seal of quality

Our customers are placing ever higher demands on product quality, productivity, and competitiveness. With our quality management system in accordance with IATF 16949:2016, we can meet these requirements even more efficiently and further increase our performance. The aim of IATF 16949 is to continuously improve system and process quality in companies in the automotive industry. This continuous improvement process is crucial to the success of the international automotive industry and aims to increase customer satisfaction, identify errors and risks in the production process and supply chain, eliminate their causes and check the effectiveness of the corresponding measures.

As part of the audit in 2017, the main plant in Eisenbach was successfully certified in accordance with IATF 16949:2016 for the first time. This was followed in 2020 by the successful certification of the Mexican production site in Lerma.

IATF 16949:2016 combines numerous quality standards of the automotive industry and is the first globally valid certification standard for quality management systems, especially for automotive suppliers and their sub-suppliers. It is based on the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard, to which F. Morat has been certified since 1996.

We are closely guided by the following quality management principles:

  • Continuous improvement
  • Customer-focused organization
  • Management by objectives
  • Aligning processes with objectives
  • Involvement of employees
  • Supplier relationships for mutual benefit
  • Decisions based on data
  • Process orientation
