“How can a helical gear set be fundamentally improved? Or can a single gear set even replace multi-stage gear concepts?” These questions were at the beginning of the development of our innovative speeroX gearing. We developed and designed numerous alternatives and subjected them to extensive testing. We were convinced by the variant that continues to use a worm gear but shifts the gearing to the flat side. Compared to conventional solutions for angular gearboxes, this gearing offers significant advantages in terms of power density, noise, and service life. It also opens up applications in which classic worm gear sets or screw gear sets reach their limits due to their installation space or efficiency. We call this technology speeroX, and we offer it to you in customer-specific development and production.

SpeeroX wheelsets as steel-steel pairings enable robust drive solutions with high power density to be implemented. The wear-free material pairing offers a durable alternative to conventional gear concepts. The use of efficiency-optimized speeroX gear components has also proven itself in dynamic applications. Advantageous sliding effects nevertheless ensure low noise levels.
The speeroX material portfolio has been expanded and is now relevant for additional applications. Based on decades of experience in the design of gear components, a plastics-compatible speeroX design philosophy has been developed. This means that the two core areas of expertise of the Franz Morat Group, in the form of a plastic wheel and a metal worm gear, mesh perfectly with each other in the speeroX wheel set. This enables highly compact, efficient, and economical speeroX plastic gears for the automotive industry.

Your advantages with speeroX technology
Small installation space
With speeroX, the gear teeth are located on the flat side of the wheel. This design reduces the distance between the drive and output shafts. This allows gearboxes to be designed that are significantly more compact while offering comparable performance data.
High power density
Compared to a worm gear or helical gear set, more teeth mesh simultaneously in speeroX. This increases the load capacity of the gearbox design and allows it to transmit higher power or higher loads in a comparable installation space.
Low noise development
In speeroX, the rolling and sliding components are very well balanced. Thanks to the advantageous sliding effects, the gearing remains significantly quieter than comparable drives with spur and bevel gears, in which the teeth mainly roll.
High energy efficiency
The kinematically favorable meshing conditions of the speeroX gearing reduce friction. This enables high efficiency and thus energy-efficient right-angle gearboxes to be implemented – especially in comparison to classic worm gear sets.
